Automatically move photos to directories or folders based on exif date taken

I like to share when I find a very useful application. For some time now I´ve been organizing and de-duplicating the huge collection of pictures I currently own. With today´s mobile phones and the great quality of pictures and videos they can take, its not a surprise to see a lot of files accumulating.

I had a folder with more than 45.000 pictures and videos captured with my iPhone alone, I am sure I am not alone on this boat 🙂

Is it possible to get Apple´s attention? Lets try with your help ;)

They say hope is the last thing a man should lose, and here I am hoping Apple fixes an issue that is affecting a lot of people by creating a petition.

Accessing network shares over AFP/SMB on the MacOS Operating systems work very bad.

Listing files on a NAS its terribly slow, no matter if its over Wifi or Ethernet. Specially if you have a large amount of files on the folder.

Windows has no issues accessing the same shares with Windows Explorer with blazing fast speeds (almost instant). An example can be seen on this video I shot some time ago. The problems persists today (August 2017).

Thunderbolt 3 Docks that can charge your MacBook Pro 2016/2017

Thunderbolt 3 Docks that can charge your MacBook Pro 2016/2017

I made some research which took quite some time, so I thought on sharing it in this post so you can also benefit of the information.

I was looking for a Thunderbolt 3 Dock which would allow me to connect my external ultra wide screen, keyboard, mouse, Ethernet network and some other things to the dock and then with the plug of one single Thunderbolt 3 cable from the dock to a 2017 MacBook Pro 15″ which I ordered. I would like to be able to connect all the things AND charge the notebook at the same time without the need to plug the power adapter of the Mac.

You have to be careful because not all docks charge a MacBook Pro 15″ (they dont have enough power).
The only models that would do so until today (July 19th 2017) are:

Rewfeed another Internet scam, how it works

Rewfeed another Internet scam, how it works

You might start seeing a lot of social media posts about #Rewfeed (can go as “RevFeed” too) and how incredible this website will give you USD 250 for free to start investing on their own “Social Media Investment platform”. The main selling point is not only that they will give you the 250 to start for free but that you will pay it back once you reach your first USD 10.000 :). They claim that they invented a “social media analyzer” that lets them predict which companies stock´s will go up or down based on people´s perception.

Sounds sweet right? Actually too sweet to be true. Check the analysis of the scam below: (more…)

PhotoSync App will end your mobile photo Syncing nightmares

PhotoSync App will end your mobile photo Syncing nightmares

Syncing pictures from your mobile devices (phones & tablets) should be something really easy and straightforward.

If you have an iPhone, syncing the pictures with a Mac seems to be pretty straight forward, unless you have thousands of images, then things get to be a bit complicated (sometimes).

I switched to a Windows 10 laptop (maybe temporarily) some time back, I tried to import all my iPhone pictures using the Windows Photos App, but somehow its lack of flexibility and not properly deleting the pictures that were already imported on my iPhone made things more complicated. The fact that you cant be sure if the pictures where actually synced to delete them at least manually, freaked me out.
