It seems this time Apple is in real trouble, as you may have heard, several buyers of the iPhone 6 Plus have complained about having issues with their phones while wearing them on their front trousers pockets or while sitting on them when carrying them on their back pockets. The problem is that after exposing these phones to some normal wearing pressure, they start to bend, and the #BendGate was born. I can understand if it bends if you sit on it, but not if you use it on your front pocket…

Yes, the company that you thought would never have a problem like this, because of their design and fabrication “High standards” is actually having a problem that will definitely have a negative effect on their image.
I personally would have never thought that Apple would have an issue like this…clearly, they could have done better and maybe focus on testing their phones properly instead of being focused on the secrecy part.
I don’t understand how companies of this size, with thousands of people working on the project and millions of dollars invested in R&D have this type of problems. You have to remember, the iPhone 6 Plus 128 GB costs almost USD 1000, so I think you should expect top quality for this price. Its going to be interesting to see if their stock value will be affected by this. Apple didn’t comment on the matter till the moment I’ve published this post.

When Apple announces something, all of us who love technology really take it seriously and we are very anxious about the announcements, about how a company like Apple will shake the market with some innovative product, or how we will start drooling about getting that marvelous product they are about to make public.
Since the death of Steve Jobs a lot of people think or thought that Tim Cook was not good enough for the role, and that Apple would not be able to innovate anymore. I think they are wrong, I think that although they are different persons, Apple has an amazing team of people that will continue to make great products to enrich people’s lives (as Tim Cook would say it).
But when a company like Apple (the company with the highest value in the world), decides to live stream an event like the one of the last 9th of September 2014, they need to make sure they have their things in order to be able to fulfill the millions of requests they know they will get on such a date. I wanted to wait some days before actually writing something about what Apple has announced, I think letting some water flow under the bridge before writing brings a little bit of more objectivity, and I hope thats the case of this post.
As you may have heard, Apple announced several things on their September 9th 2014 event in California:
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus
Two new versions of the iPhones, one with a 4,7″ screen and another with a 5.5″screen called “Plus”. Both models bring the new A8 processor, more screen resolution, improved camera and they come in 16, 64 and 128 GB. Yes they don’t offer anymore the 32GB version which was an odd choice, I would have expected them not to offer the 16GB model, but thats the way it is. Both models finally offer NFC that (for now) will only work with Apple Pay, something I will talk about below.
The main difference between the two models (besides the obvious bigger screen) is that the Plus version offers optical image stabilization for the camera, something that will improve your shots when your hand shakes a bit!.

Since Apple introduced the lightning connector on their devices, it has been a very nice experience. You dont have to figure out on which side the connector should be plugged because it would work either way (contrary to the micro usb plug).
Unfortunately, not everything that shines is gold, and I found myself in several situations where I would love to have a lightning adapter with me.
You probably feel identified with this situation: You are on a place where several people around you only have micro usb char
gers so you can’t charge your iPhone :(. Lets face it, its really uncomfortable to carry a 1m cable on your pocket, and even so, remembering to always take it with you is another hassle.
In Europe, the micro USB connector has been set as a standard for mobile devices, so Apple is obliged to at least sell an adapter that would allow you to use any micro USB cable with their lightning devices. I wanted to test this, and today I received the Apple adaptor I purchased online. (more…)

Today I received the long awaited Retina MacBook Pro 15″ dock from Henge Docks, I must say I am surprised with the quality of the materials they used on the construction.
It looks sturdy and the finish of the aluminum makes it looks as an extension of the laptop itself. Although I created my own USD 2 DIY dock some time ago and I’ve been using this since I purchased my first late October 2013 rMBP, I was waiting for this particular dock because I don’t have to plug or unplug any cables at all to use it.
As you can see, the dock incorporates all the connectors for this MacBook Pro model, and all the cables to connect your stuff go down as you can see on the second picture. (more…)
