I recently started working in a new company, and I was asked to give a presentation about myself so that the rest of the team could know me better.
At first I didn’t know what to do, what to say, then I remembered about Prezi and ideas started to flow more, just because the tool would allow me to express myself differently.
Prezi is an amazing presentations application that can work online or offline (if you have the right plan) and would allow you to create astonishing good looking things. Forget about Powerpoint and how boring slide by slide could it be, with Prezi you get to present ideas and concepts with natural movement and flow.

I am learning my way on the Apple world, till now the experience is positive, but there are some things that I miss from Windows.
Finder would be the equivalence to Windows Explorer in Windows, and you use it for everything related to file management too. But I was missing some specs that I really found useful in Windows and it was the right click context menu with the Cut, Copy and Paste option. For some reason Apple decided not to include the Cut command on a right click and limits you to use the Command X key combination to Cut some files and then paste them to another location.

I purchased the latest MacBook Pro retina in November 2013, its the 15″ version which has two video cards on it, an Intel Iris and an Nvidia 750M if I recall correctly.
Its nice to have two video cards because you can do more graphic hungry stuff without having to use another computer, but there are times where you really need as much battery as possible, and you don’t want any application to trigger the power hungry Nvidia 750M. (more…)

Some days ago I started my holidays, and because I can’t really help myself not being improving processes during my trip, I decided to provide Arqiva the company behind the wifi service at Heathrow Terminal 5 with feedback about the strange behaviour of their service.
I connected 1 hour and a half for free to a network called “_Heathrow Wi-Fi”, after my free time was over I decided to purchase a 9 pounds plan for a 24 hours slot. (more…)

As you might have read some time ago I decided to switch to Mac, I`ve been a Windows user for 17 years now and I support them, configure and manage them for work. I wanted to have the experience of OS X on Apple hardware first hand and so I purchased a Mac Book Pro Retina 15″ which was announced in October 22nd Apple event and I received last Friday.
My first impressions are great, its an incredible well built machine. Its design is really beautiful and on the inside it seems to be very powerful. I opted for the Quad Core 2.6 Ghz. version with 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD drive. I am really happy till now although I didn’t have the opportunity to do much with it. (more…)

These days I started to try WeChat, a free WhatsApp, Viber, Line, Hangouts alternative that adds a very useful feature Video Calls. Its like Facetime but also works cross platform so although its still a bit clunky, I think it has a good future. Or at least it does until a contender with a bigger user base gets the feature on board.
WeChat is developed by a company called Tencent in China and it is available for almost every existing mobile platform (Android, iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Phone & Symbian).
Between the features the app offers you can find Chat with History Backup, Video Call, Moments (to share pictures with your friends), Voice Chat (what was recently added by WhatsApp and I found very useful), WebClient (to talk with our friends we have on the mobile from any computer which is geat!), Look around (offers a way to connect with people nearby using also WeChat), and a cute feature called Drift Bottle (which allows you to place a message “in a bottle” and “leave it” floating, then anybody can pick it up and see your message 🙂
