I discovered the Devolo Powerline adapters (made in Germany) some years ago. They basically allow you to expand your data network on your house or office with almost nothing but plugging the devices to wall electrical outlets.
How it works is very simple, you plug a Powerline to a wall power outlet and connect your ethernet cable to the computer you would like to connect. Then connect another Powerline near the switch or router of your house and plug an ethernet cable from the the router to this second adapter. The devices will connect to each other using your building powerline cables and will establish a network connection. I love how sharp the TarDisk fits on the SD card slot of a Mac
TarDisk its Kickstarter project that offers a simple and secure way to double or triple the storage of your Macbook, by using your SD slot (depending on how much you currently have).
Because a lot of people actually don’t use that often the SD card slot, the guys at TarDisk came up with this great idea of taking advantage of it. You can have up to 256 GB of storage (for now) on a little SD card to expand your Mac’s storage capacity, in a very simple way and on the fly!
Today I received over WhatsApp an image from a friend asking which colors I saw on a picture of a dress. To be honest this took a very long discussion between a lot of friends and family about the colors each people saw on that dress.
I clearly saw the dress blue and black, while my wife and many other people saw the same dress White and Gold.
The idea that somebody beside me, watching the same image that I was looking was telling something “completely opposite” sounded unbelievable. With my wife we started laughing like hell, because we got nervous, not understanding how something we were both watching was perceived completely different.
I wrote reviews about Bitcasa in the past, and they were in general positive. The company was missing things, but they were slowly moving forward.
Around a year ago, they decided not to sell anymore unlimited storage accounts. They were having problems with their business and paying for a lot of storage. This was sad, but this decision was not affecting existing customers. (more…)
