MacBook Pro the best laptop to run Windows, yes, Windows

The guys at Soluto, did a study where they demonstrated which were the most trustful laptops to run Windows. The big surprise is that the best one to run Windows is the Apple MacBook Pro 13″ from mid 2012.

The report was constructed based on 150.000 analyzed (laptops, netbooks & ultrabooks) between January 1st 2013 and April 1st 2013, considering 224,144 crashes and 84,251 blue-screens. Other things contemplated during the test were: applications hangs, boot times and number of background processes. The OS of these selected group of laptops had to be installed in the past 12 months and the models of the devices had to be currently sold too.

BitCasa just killed the hard drive (jaw-dropping)

BitCasa just killed the hard drive (jaw-dropping)

What is BitCasa?

Bitcasa-Logo-GreenIts an application that enables an online virtual drive on your computer  that works the same way an external hard drive connected to your computer would but with steroids. It adds all the benefits of having all the information you put on this drive securely backed up online and available to access it from any device you have (PC, MAC, Tablet, Smartphone) no matter in which part of the world you are. You can choose to move, copy or mirror folders you have on your computer to the BitCasa drive and if you choose to move them, those files wont take space on your computer.

BitCasa explained by Tony Gauda, CEO and Co-founder

How much storage space BitCasa offers?

When I heard for the first time Tony Gauda´s statement “We are killing the hard drive” it immediately got my attention. (more…)

18 features the ideal online storage service should have

18 features the ideal online storage service should have

Cloud StorageFrom month to month I check several cloud storage services like Dropbox and Google Drive. I test them and check about any new functionality their developers might add. But still, there is not one service on the market that really rules.

Companies like the two mentioned on the previous paragraph might be more well known than others but still they are missing several features and flexibility.

The following is a list of must have´s for a cloud storage service to really lead the market:

1 – Not everything in one folder:
I have several hard drives con my computers and work on a certain way with them. I don’t want to change the way I work to be able to use a service. Dropbox works very well but having to put everything into one folder really makes me sick.

28 Must have FREE applications on your new Windows PC

freeI usually help a lot of friends and family with their computer problems and doubts, I also help them to decide which computer, peripheral or accessories to buy when the opportunity arrives.

One of the most frequent questions I receive is, OK, I have my new computer, and now what?

I personally like to configure things a certain way, install certain applications that will allow me to do almost anything I will need to do with the computer. So whenever a friend asks for help I try to commit the same way with them as if it was my own computer.

The following is a list of most of the tools I will install on a freshly installed computer (assuming nothing of this is already installed on it). (more…)

Me and my girlfriend have iPhones & iPads (well technically I dont have an iPhone yet), that would be 4 devices. We bought the devices at the same time so the chances of picture names overlapping is preety high.

I use Windows and my girlfriend too, and when we have to download files from our devices into our folder structures (which we share on the network) then some overwrite could occur if we are not really paying enough attention at the Overwrite? question.

Is Windows 8 the next Vista? Take a look at our initial review and tips

Is Windows 8 the next Vista? Take a look at our initial review and tips

A couple of days ago I started testing Windows 8 . The new Microsoft operating system has been promoted on every single ad around the world. The launch was some days ago and since some months we knew all new laptops and desktops were going to be shipped with Windows 8.

Before I start I need to comment you my installation experience: Although the installation process was really fast (I always do full installations and not upgrades), consider saving the ISO file into a USB device making it bootable (you can use Yumi Multiboot for this) or you can burn the ISO into a DVD disc in case something goes wrong and you need to reinstall…
